About the Role

Group Accountant  
Full-time, Permanent  
Knutsford with hybrid working

The Role:  
We are looking for a Group Accountant to join the Group Finance Team and play a crucial role in the financial accounting and reporting processes. You will be assisting with the production of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as well as budget forecasting. The role will also be involved in ad hoc Group Finance projects. 

What you'll be doing: 
  • Assist in producing monthly Group consolidated accounts and annual reports.
  • Review and challenge management accounts; reconcile and review balance sheet accounts.
  • Support internal and external audits and KPI reporting with insightful analysis.
  • Contribute to consolidation and production of budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide technical guidance and system support (Cognos) to Group Companies, including upgrades and improvements.
  • Drive process efficiencies for faster month-end close and remediate internal control gaps.
  • Assist with updates to accounting policies and procedures and other ad hoc duties as required.
 What we’re looking for:
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Professional qualification in accounting (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA).
  • Proven track record of improving and streamlining processes and policies.
  • Previous experience within a group accounting team is preferable, but not a must.
  • Cognos experience preferable.
  • Strong technical accounting background (IFRS).
  • Be highly numerate and analytical.
  • Confident and effective communicator with the ability to build rapport and work with people at all levels.
  • Effective organisational ability and time management skills are crucial, with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to constructively challenge and analyse results
