Stores Assistant
Full-Time, 6 Month FTC

The Role:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-orientated Stores Assistant to support the effective day-to-day running of our stores function. Reporting to the Stores Supervisor, you will assist with inventory management, stock control, and operational activities, helping to ensure materials and equipment are available when needed to support business operations.
What you'll be doing:
- Receiving and inspecting incoming goods, ensuring deliveries are accurate, compliant with purchase order requirements, and correctly booked into stock.
- Supporting the resolution of delivery discrepancies, including shortages, damages, certification issues, and invoice queries, working closely with the Stores Supervisor.
- Picking, staging, issuing, and packing materials for production work orders, ensuring all parts are correctly identified, traceable, and available when required.
- Preparing and dispatching customer sales orders, ensuring products are packed safely and accompanied by the correct documentation and certification.
- Maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting stock control activities through cycle counts and stock takes to ensure system accuracy.
- Ensuring stock, materials, and equipment are stored safely, logically, and in line with company procedures.
- Supporting the issue, control, and replenishment of consumables and tools, as well as safely operating the forklift truck and company delivery vehicle when required.
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping across stores and workshop areas, including waste management, recycling, vehicle upkeep, and ensuring a safe working environment.
- Building positive working relationships across the business by acting with integrity, treating others with respect, and fostering a culture of trust, teamwork, and fairness.
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience in a stores, warehouse, or inventory management environment, with the ability to maintain accurate stock records and support the timely receipt, processing, and dispatch of materials.
- Strong attention to detail, with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and build positive working relationships across the business.
- Experience using MRP/ERP systems, alongside a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A valid South African Driver's Licence.
